Technical Artist Opening (Full-time or Part-time)
Vortex Games is looking for a Technical Artist to build and maintain expressive rigs for an ensemble of interesting characters. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities
Develop and support comprehensive rigs for a cast of diverse characters. We currently use Advanced Skeleton on a large number of our rigs but we're very encouraging of bespoke creative solutions to help satisfy increasingly complex rig constraints.
Work with the character design pipeline from a creative standpoint on current and future character direction.
Skill Expectations
Comprehensive working knowledge of rigging in Maya & Advanced Skeleton.
Proficient in Python and MEL scripting in Maya.
Knowledge of Unity or an analogous engine.
3+ years of experience in game development in a technical artist role.
Strong understanding of asset optimization and runtime performance.
Able to comfortably communicate with programmers, designers, and artists.
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive knowledge and understanding of Unity.
Familiar with physics simulations in both Unity & Maya - including but not limited to hair, cloth, etc.
Have experience with an entire production cycle and/or have shipped a AAA title.
